AIX fixes for cfengine 1.6.5?

I'm currently trying to get cfengine 1.6.5 compiling on AIX and
Darwin.  On AIX, I run into strange problems which can be fixed by
converting the function definitions from K&R C into ANSI C (ie. adding
proper prototypes).  In this context I have a question.  Why is some
of the code written i K&R C?  Would you be interested in converting
the source to ANSI C?

Is the AIX and Darwin problems known, and is there an easy fix
available to get cfengine to compile on these platforms?

BTW: The source for cfengine 1.6.5 have address@hidden
  in README.  This address bounces.
