Hi,
When I compile cfengine using BerkeleyDB v4.1.25 and openssl 0.9.7 cfenvd &
cfagent use all available CPU. Linking against BerkeleyDB v4.0.14 does not
have the problem & works OK. cfagent with the -n switch correctly parses
the configuration file & reports intended actions. Maybe it is only when
the database is opened?
Platform: sparc/Solaris 8 & 9
Compiler: Sun's C++ workshop V5.0
cfengine configuration command
./configure --with-ssl=/usr/local/ssl
--with-berkeleydb=/usr/local/BerkeleyDB-4.1
BerkeleyDB configuration command
./configure --with-ssl=/usr/local/ssl --with-tcl
openssl was configured with no options.
Attached is the output from truss.
truss -f -e -a -l -o truss.log /usr/local/sbin/cfenvd
This is all the output produced. It is after the last truss output line
that CPU goes up.
I've just discovered that if I build BerkeleyDB without tcl support the
problem goes away. I don't know if this is a bug in either software suite
but probably rates a mention in cfengine's documentation. (I had only
enabled tcl support to run make test and hadn't done so for BerkeleyDB
4.0.14)
If you would like more information or if I can help in anyway please let me
know.
Thanks for your great software.
