Thanks for the report.
That's been fixed for some time, probably since coreutils-4.5.4.
Here's what it does, now:
$ df -iH /
Filesystem Inodes IUsed IFree IUse% Mounted on
/dev/hda6 526k 173k 354k 33% /

(coreutils is the union of fileutils, textutils, and sh-utils)
