follow-up

I wrote that code earlier today, and just now in reviewing my email, I
see that I could eliminate the while loop and counting of threads at the
end and just check for (thread_pool == NULL). I'm sure there's other
improvements like that or better, but I appreciate the opportunity to
share and hopefully enhance linux even if none of my code is used or
even usable.
