Follow-up Comment #1:

gthr-default.h is part of GCC.

GCC 4.4.4 is quite a lot older than CSSC-1.4.0 (which itself is about 3y old).
 So that by the time CSSC 1.4.0 was being tested, that version of GCC had been
replaced (on my systems, at least).

I'd suggest that the best start would be to try a newer version of GCC.   If
you can reproduce the problem with GCC version 6.3 or later, please re-open
this bug and I will investigate further.

If it's impossible for you to update GCC, please explain and we might be able
to find another way.
