DDD 3.2.1 (alphaev56-dec-osf5.0) gets `BadFont' error

* What you were doing to get this message.  Report all the facts.

  I selected the Source menu and clicked on the option to turn
  off line numbers.  All ddd windows immediately disappeared;
  pretty dramatic!

  This happened on two sequential tries (after restarting ddd
  of course).

  Turning line numbers on seems to work fine;
  its trying to turn them off that caused the crashes.
