I restarted ddd after rebuilding the binary I was debugging. When I hit
run it died. I had a few breakpoints set.

<- "Breakpoint 7 at 0x80a2a1a: file ..//qcommon/vm_x86.c, line 1057.\n"
   "(gdb) "
-> "info breakpoints\n"
<- "Num Type Disp Enb Address What\n"
   "6   breakpoint     keep y   0x080a2a2a in VM_CallCompiled at
..//qcommon/vm_x86.c:1071\n"
   "7   breakpoint     keep y   0x080a2a1a in VM_CallCompiled at
..//qcommon/vm_x86.c:1057\n"
   "(gdb) "
-> "output _WIN32\n"
<- "No symbol \"_WIN32\" in current context.\n"
<- "(gdb) "
!  Illegal instruction
-> "\003"
<- "Quit\n"
   "(gdb) "
!  Illegal instruction
