Dear all,

two suggestions from my side:

1) Just output the warning (without waiting for confirmation). This way it
won't impact any experienced users (or their habits of) using ddrescue.
One additional line of output should not bother anyone.
People who start ddrescue to recover their data and ignore output similar to
"WARNING: You did not specify a mapfile - this is usually a bad idea! Did
you read manual section 5?" might be too far away from the target audience
anyway.

2) Alternatively make the logfile a mandatory parameter only if --force is
not used.
This way ddrescue can be used as a replacement for dd (Antonio and others
seem to do this). Inexperienced users hopefully won't use --force anyway..

Kind Regards
Felix
