Hello Nicolas, Nicolas Boulenguez wrote:
The webpage and the COPYING file refer to version 3 of the GPL, but all source headers in ed-1.14.2.tar.lz say otherwise. According to the headers, the licenses are: * buffer.c ed.h globals.c io.c main.c main_loop.c regex.c signal.c: GPL-2+ * carg_parser.c carg_parser.h: BSD-2-Clause * Changelog configure testsuite/check.sh: FSFUL * doc/ed.texi: GFDL-NIV-1.3+ I bet that GPL-2+ is an error and BSD/FSFUL/GFDL are correct, but please confirm this and/or update the header.
AFAIK there is no error. GNU ed as a whole is distributed under GPLv3+, but each source file retains the (GPLv3+ compatible) license notice put there by its original author.
Best regards, Antonio.
