Summary: If rm/chmod etc. not in /bin or /usr/bin, updatedb
                 Project: findutils

                Category: updatedb
                Severity: 3 - Normal
              Item Group: Test suite failure
                  Status: Confirmed
                 Privacy: Public
             Assigned to: jay
         Originator Name:
        Originator Email:
             Open/Closed: Open
         Discussion Lock: Any
                 Release: None
           Fixed Release: None

These errors occur if various tools are not in /bin and are not in /usr/bin:

FAIL: exists1: updatedb is supposed to be silent,
.../findutils-4.5.11-git/locate/testsuite/../updatedb: line 263: rm: command
not found
.../findutils-4.5.11-git/locate/testsuite/../updatedb: line 312: chmod:
command not found
.../findutils-4.5.11-git/locate/testsuite/../updatedb: line 313: mv: command
not found

Other similar errors also occur in later tests.

It looks like this is caused by the direct assignment of PATH in pudatedb.sh.
That assignment has been in the source tree since at least the initial
revision we can now see:
