Hello, Gawkers,After 17 years of using gawk, I think I may have discovered a bug. Apparently it was introduced in 4.0.0, though perhaps it has already been found.
Gawk 3.1.8 gives what I would expect. ] echo -e "1\n2\n3" | gawk 'BEGIN{getline} {print $1}' 2 3 ] The same command on Gawk 4.0.0 gives ]echo -e "1\n2\n3" | gawk 'BEGIN{getline} {print $1}' 3 ] Thanks for all the gawk.
