Hello.

Can you provide more detail, please? Are you cutting and pasting from
the Info file?  From a PDF file?  If from a PDF file, how was it generated?

Also (perhaps you're not aware), except for the various fragmentary
programs, all of the code in the book is availble in the gawk distribution
as ready-to-use awk files.  So there's no real need to copy/paste
large chunks of code.
