Thanks for your prompt reply. It looks very good. I'm happy that the
hours I spent boiling this bug down, from a huge program into a
"simple" one that was near-minimal to exhibit the problem, will be
paying off in making GDB [and perhaps even GCC] even more reliable
than before. It is thousands of little things like this that make free
software infinitely better than the other kind.
