Updating translations of gettext

I noticed that the Italian .po translation files for gettext (and iconv) are rather outdated.

Since I'd like to update them, I looked for a way to do that.

To my understanding, I have to use translationproject.org (I still have to understand how), but there I see that the gettext .pot files ([1], [2], [3]) are still for version 0.22 (and iconv is for 1.17-pre1 [4]).

How are those .pot files updated?
