Follow-up Comment #3, bug #66313 (group gettext):

Part of the support is in xgettext, part is in msgfmt, and part is in glibc /
libintl. We cannot just "simply" add non-standard functionality in three
places, especially since the support for standard PRId64 and PRIu64 exists in
all three places for 20 years.
