This is still happening with 2.3.2.

Also, the problem with __i686 (defined as a macro by gcc in some
circumstances) in sysdeps/unix/sysv/linux/i386/sysdep.h remains in
2.3.2.  The previously posted workaround of adding "#undef __i686"
still seems to work.
