It does not occur in my environment.

$ cat test.c
static inline char *
memdup(const char *s, size_t n)
{
  char * t = (char*)malloc(n);
  memcpy(t, s, n);
  return t;
}
$ gtags
$ global -x '.*'
memdup              2 test.c           memdup(const char *s, size_t n)
$ _

Does not something others cause it?
