Why is GMP so fragile and poorly designed that it fails without
constant testing?
Sure, GMP needs testing on all "supported" platform.
Perhaps that is indeed a sign of poor design.
Lots of programs share that property, though. Take GCC
as another example. Nowadays, it too undergoes "constant
testing". An unevitable result of poor design?
