Folks,
I gotta say I've run out of patience with the spam on the list.
In my experience most mailing lists are operated as members-only
lists. This single config setting keeps the spam down to manageable
levels. For those lists which need to accept non-member posting,
mostly either some reasonable filter is used, or somebody takes
the responsibility to moderate the list.
Yes, I could run a spam content filter myself, and no, I'm not
doing so at the moment. I _am_ taking other measures, in an attempt
to cut down company-wide on spam by blocking spam sources, and those
other measures exhaust the time I have available to fiddle with spam.
Regretfully I must say that in this case the spammers have won.
I'll be unsubscribing shortly.
