Hi,

Just a note to suggest to those who have a moment
that you download the latest GNU Chess from

  http://www.gnu.org/software/chess/chess.html

This vesion has quite a large opening book and
can provide very rapid play for a number of moves.

The book is very similar in design to Crafty's, which
is not copylefted, and was designed without referring
to the code. There were some e-mail discussions
between Professor Hyatt and myself.

If you have ideas about GNU Chess's future direction,
I look forward to hearing from you, especially those
who want to contribute code enhancements.
