Thanks for the feedback.  I installed the changes in PROBLEMS.

Btw, there's one more customization I'd suggest to make if you are
mainly working with UTF-8 text:

    (prefer-coding-system 'utf-8)

Without this, Emacs will usually err when it tries to guess the
encoding of UTF-8 text.
