Moving the mouse clears the minibuffer in isearch mode

Subject: Moving the mouse clears the minibuffer in isearch mode

This bug report will be sent to the Free Software Foundation,
not to your local site managers!
Please write in English, because the Emacs maintainers do not have
translators to read other languages for them.

Your bug report will be posted to the address@hidden mailing list,
and to the gnu.emacs.bug news group.

In GNU Emacs 21.1.1 (i686-pc-linux-gnu, X toolkit, Xaw3d scroll bars)
 of 2001-11-05 on kfs2
configured using `configure --without-xim'
Important settings:
  value of $LC_ALL: nil
  value of $LC_COLLATE: nil
  value of $LC_CTYPE: nil
  value of $LC_MESSAGES: nil
  value of $LC_MONETARY: nil
  value of $LC_NUMERIC: nil
  value of $LC_TIME: nil
  value of $LANG: en_US
  locale-coding-system: iso-latin-1
  default-enable-multibyte-characters: t

Please describe exactly what actions triggered the bug
and the precise symptoms of the bug:

    (setq toolbar-gud-tips-p t)
    C-x C-f somefile.c (any existing C file will do!)
    C-s
    move the mouse

Now the minibuffer is blank, but isearch is still active.
To see this, type something to search for, e.g.

    if

this restores the minibuffer contents and finds the first `if' (and
highlights the rest)

    move the mouse again

and the minibuffer is cleared once more.

    C-s

restores the minibuffer again, and moves to the next `if'.... and so
on.

This also happens with the latest CVS version.
