I put it into a separate file, as you suggested, and now emacs
knows a coding-system "ctext-with-extensions", but I still get
the same ecsape sequences in the buffer.
It seems like ctext-post-read-conversion is never run at all, I
can freely distribute lines saying
  (error "This is not an Error")
in the defun without changing anything in its behaviour.
