C-x C-d runs the command list-directory

Yeah, OK, but why not also cd to that directory in the buffer created?

Proof:
C-x C-d / v a r <return> C-x o C-x C-f

I bet it is prompting you for a file in some other directory than
/var. Hurmf. What good is that? No good. Sure, I hardly use
list-directory, however, with all the Las Vegas neon lights saying
welcome to Las Vegas, why, officer, do you say that I am still legally
in California? That might cause an accident.

ProtoEli> your Subject said "fails to change", however this is no
ProtoEli> intention to change. Therefore, you have posted another
ProtoEli> non-bug.

My point it that it should make the change [background music: Bowie:
C-C-C-Changes strikes up]
