Please describe exactly what actions triggered the bug
and the precise symptoms of the bug:
When I display a Japasese character (hereafter referred to as X) as
another Japanese character (referred to as Y) with the following code:
(setq buffer-display-table (make-display-table))
(aset buffer-display-table ?X (vector ?Y))
each of (char-width ?X) and (string-width "X") returns 1
even though X occupies 2 columns on the screen.
