Yes; here's the *Messages* output for that file:

   Process `eval' or hook local variables in file x? (y or n) 
   Ignoring risky spec in the local variables list

Come now, if we were really planning to harm you, would we be waiting here, 
 beside the path, in the very darkest part of the forest?
