Remember how C-x C-v was supposed to get files afresh, sweeping away
any badness, even cursor position, as Eli once beamingly reconfirmed
here for me.
Well, it turns out find-alternate-file if used in a dired situation
doesn't forget the junk:
$ emacs /tmp
s C-x C-v RET C-u s u RET C-x C-v . RET
even the misleading ls -tu format is particularly not swept away.
sure, hit C-u s and clean it up yourself, you will say. But that's
not the point.
