flyspell vs. "surprise surprize"

In flyspell mode when one hits tab on the end of this line:
    I mean like surprise surprize
the spelling is indeed corrected, however, *Messages* shows:
    flyspell-auto-correct-word: Wrong type argument: vectorp, nil
I bet there is a collision with the repeat protector.
