Start "emacs ~" under X and resize the window so that one of the files
or directories is just at the end of line, i.e., (current-column) at
(end-of-line) is equal to (window-width).
Now move your mouse over that file or directory.
I see the name highlighted (good) and also the next line highlighted
(bad).
At first I thought that perhaps it was deliberate or even desirable.
But Emacs does not display other highlighting in that way, e.g., if you
use mouse-1 etc. to select the file or directory name text then the
highlighting only covers the name.
