This bug report will be sent to the Free Software Foundation,
not to your local site managers!
Please write in English, because the Emacs maintainers do not have
translators to read other languages for them.

Your bug report will be posted to the bug-gnu-emacs@gnu.org mailing list,

Please describe exactly what actions triggered the bug
and the precise symptoms of the bug:

I just moved to emacs 21.3 after using 19.34 forever. I have noticed a few
items in the managment of the emacs window that could be improved.

I am using with dtwm and configured as shown above. The screen on the
workstation is set for 1280x1024.

I use the following X resources for emacs

Emacs*Background: LightBlue
Emacs*BitMapIcon: on
Emacs*Font: fixed
Emacs*Foreground: black
Emacs*cursorColor: blue
Emacs*pointerColor: blue
Emacs.Geometry: 80x48-0-0

The geometry one is set to place emacs in the lower right corner of my
screen.

I invoke emacs with no switches and have disabled my .emacs and my default.el
files to assure they do not cause the problems.

Problem 1

When the emacs window comes up is is not in the lower right corner. It
is about 10 pixels from the right side and about 16 pixels up from
the bottom. I believe it should be all the way over and down.

Problem 2

I then do M-X menu-bar-mode and indeed the bar goes away but the
bottom of the window moves up. Based on the geometry settings I would
have expected the top of the window to move down to keep the window
        at the bottom.

Problem 3

Starting at problem 1, I then maximize the window and the bottom of
emacs goes below the bottom of the screen by about half the distance
of the mode line area. There is plenty of room at the top of the
screen to have placed the window at the lower right corner.

Problem 4

I can't figure out how to duplicate this one. But the winodw I am
using right now is doing it. At times the entire mode line has gone
below the bottom of the screen.
