The documentation for ``looking-back'' currently says:
"limit if non-nil speeds up the search by specifying how far back the
match can start."
I've always read that as "number of characters", and only recently
noticed that a buffer position is required. I think the documentation
should reflect that.
Confer the ``re-search-backward'', which says:
"An optional second argument bounds the search; it is a buffer position.
The match found must start at or after that position."
