bug#6752: 24.0.50; paste/yank impossible under MacOSX

From: Chad Brown
Subject: bug#6752: 24.0.50; paste/yank impossible under MacOSX
Date: Wed, 28 Jul 2010 14:37:00 -0700

This bug report will be sent to the Free Software Foundation,
not to your local site managers!
Please write in English if possible, because the Emacs maintainers
usually do not have translators to read other languages for them.

Your bug report will be posted to the bug-gnu-emacs@gnu.org mailing list,
and to the gnu.emacs.bug news group.

Please describe exactly what actions triggered the bug
and the precise symptoms of the bug. If you can, give
a recipe starting from `emacs -Q':

Ever since the change to `unify' cut/kill/paste/yank, it is impossible
to paste text under macosx, using any technique I can find. This
includes emacs<->native, native<->emacs, and emacs<->emacs.  It also
includes keybindings, menus, and M-x kill/yank, as well as mouse and
keyboard selection. No matter how I try to copy or cut text, all
attempts to paste/yank give:

Quit: "pasteboard doesn't contain valid data"

In GNU Emacs (x86_64-apple-darwin10.4.0, NS apple-appkit-1038.32)
 of 2010-07-27 on Duncan.local
Windowing system distributor `Apple', version 10.3.1038
configured using `configure '--with-ns''
