Works fine on GNU/Linux in 24.1.

On Nextstep, this just calls `ns-parse-geometry'.
C-h f ns-parse-geometry:
Parse a Nextstep-style geometry string GEOM.
Why this needs to be different on this platform I do not know, but it is.
