FYI, I'm using GNU Emacs 24.3.50.1 (i386-mingw-nt5.1.2600) of 2012-12-03 on
MS-W7-DANI for a couple of days.

I'm back with (setq shell-file-name "bash"), and experienced no real problem
so far[1].

In any case, there is no crash anymore, for sure!

So, so far, so good. It is clear that many problems which I reported here have
been fixed in the last weeks. Thanks a lot to all of you...

[1] I have the _impression_ that, once, there still was a suspended "es.exe"
process, but I really need to confirm it (to be sure I really was using
24.3.50.1, and not some 24.2 version...). And, deleting such a process,
anyway, is sufficient to defreeze Emacs.
