in Python-mode from emacs -Q,

M-x edit-abbrevs displays

"if" (sys)        0 ""                   python-skeleton-if

However, when in Python-mode and cursor behind "ts", SPACE, resp.
M-x expand-abbrev has no effect.

Does not happen with Emacs 24.2
