It'd be nice if Emacs had something like that for typing doc strings, along with the cleverer searches Drew mentioned. However, I'm leery of making nifty features prerequisites for the most recently proposed patch, as that's a recipe for inaction. Although the proposed patch's new functionality may be harder to use than we'd like, progress is made a step at a time and we can add more nifty features later.
