I have now discovered that if I compile it with
Lucid, that bug appears:

./configure --prefix=/package/text/emacs-26.0.50 --with-x-toolkit=lucid

and if not, there is no bug, with GTK.

I like Lucid kit more than GTK, but now I am
forced to use GTK for stability.
