bug#29914: 27.0.50; pg.el - protocol version 1.0 not supported, PostgreSQL 10.1 dropped 1.0 support

I have upgraded PostgreSQL from 9.6 to 10.1 and that version is dropping
support for protocol 1.0, which is then (probably) used by pg.el
package, the Emacs connection to PostgreSQL.

Now, I cannot connect to PostgreSQL, if somebody can help me make
changes or advise me which package to use?
