So hlinfo seems to be OK.  What about this part:

> 31447         && hlinfo->mouse_face_end_row < w->current_matrix->nrows)
                                                ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Try:

  (gdb) p *w

and then

  (gdb) p *w->current_matrix
