One small additional comment. You write:

"No sense"? In fact, I quite often print my documents in black-and-white only on my color-printer.

Shouldn't this be:

"Alternatively, you can set ps-print-color-p to black-white to print
black/white on color printers."

No, I don't think so.  This setting is supposed to produce a better
looking printout on black/white printers, so it makes no sense to use
it when your printer supports colors.
