          Follow-up Comment #6, bug #12789 (project pspp):

          address@hidden:~/pspp/src/expressions$ make operations.h
          /usr/bin/perl -I . operations.h.pl -o operations.h -i ./operations.def
          address@hidden:~/pspp/src/expressions$ grep atom_type operations.h

This would seem to be the place where things are going wrong.

I tried building on my woody system and I'm getting similar problems.
It seems that perl 5.6.1 doesn't do the job. Not being a perlmonger I
can't say exactly why, but it seems that the perl script exits (with
zero) and produces an empty file.

Do we want to spend the effort fixing the perl script? Or shall we
just insist on a recent perl version ?
