As you mention the 11-11-2011 version this is most likely the latest MSWindows build, so you likely use MSWindows. I wonder if this is the known MSWindows problem with large files for which there is a workaround mentioned at pspp.awardspace.com  Are you sure it hangs? Or is it veeeeeerrrrrrrryyyyyyy slow?
