gzip Installation

I am a new UNIX System Administrator and was trying to install the gzip utility on a SUN Ultra 30 running Solaris 2.7.

 

I ran ./configure which checked numerous files and returned the # prompt with no error reported.

 

Than, I tried to run check make and make. I received the response of no make file found in both attempts.

 

I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction as to how to correct this.

 

My ultimate goal is to use the gzip utility to take advantage of the beter compression.
