Unexpected EOF error

Sir,

We have taken backup of our data in three data tapes of
capacity 525 MB. We were using these tapes regularly and
one day , we suppose, due to tape drive, a unexpected EOF 
has been marked in all three tapes in between.

We were using tar cv8 filename(s) command
this archive contains multiple files.

now while extracting , it is showing unexpected EOF after
extracting few files.

We have tries 
tar -tvie8 option also but not ignoring the errors

is there any solution, please reply as early as possible.
