Of course it isn't.  It's none of the business of either the GCC or
binutils documentation writers to document behaviour GLIBC.  That's
for Glibc itself to document.  If they didn't, the blame is theirs.

IMHO no. Because that manpage will be the same on all platforms using
gprof, regardless of whether their libc is GLIBC or not.  Not even to
mention that manpages are considered moot by project GNU (or were, the
last time I checked).  The authoritative documentation is in the info
file, instead.
