Hi!

I propose that functions be used in gettextize. It has now become a
large shell script, and, IMHO, continuing without functions (or
macros, if you are ready to try M4sh, the equivalent for Autoconf for
plain shell scripts) makes it harder and harder.

Given that shell functions are *widely* available (you have to
struggle hard to find a /bin/sh that doesn't support it), given that
Gettextize is a *maintainer tool*, I tend to think it is a reasonable
requirement to use functions. Or to use higher level tools, be it
Python, Perl, or you name it.

I'm ready to convert it either to Perl or sh with functions. Would
you accept such a patch?

Thanks!
