Hi,
This is a well-known incompatibility between gcc-2.95.2 and glibc 2.2. It is fixed in gcc-2.95.3.
Well. I already compiled all GCC 3.0.x and 3.1.x (mainly for C++ needs), but I don't use them now to compile software for stow directory. Seems I should drop the 2.95.2 for 3.0.4 or 3.1.1.
*) i686-pc-linux-gnu sparc-unknown-linux-gnu sparc-sun-solaris2.6 sparc-sun-solaris2.7 sparc-sun-solaris2.8couldn't set locale correctly // only on Solaris boxes 2c2 < 2 morceaux de gateau --- > 2 pieces of cake FAIL: lang-gawk Hope this helps,It'd help if you would also tell the version of 'awk'/'gawk' that you are using, and also whether your system has a French locale ("locale -a | grep fr") - that's what tests/lang-gawk needs.
Stupid me... On i686-pc-linux-gnu, I expected it used gawk 3.1.1 from stow dir, but it took mawk 1.3.3 from /usr/bin instead. Locale was address@hidden Anyway it fails with (mawk 1.3.3 or gawk 3.1.1) and (address@hidden or fr_FR or C) locale.
Available: français french fr_FR address@hidden fr_FR.utf8 On sparc-sun-solaris2.7 for example, it used gawk-3.1.1, locale was C. Available: fr fr.ISO8859-15 address@hidden fr_BE fr_BE.ISO8859-15 fr_CA fr_CH fr.UTF-8 address@hidden address@hidden And yet a 0.11.5 available. -- Benoît Sibaud R&D Engineer - France Telecom
