I used this:
m68k-rtems-as --mri filename
I was basicially using the build instruction from the rtems manaul, although
this is not an rtems project, hence the rtems in the name. I just did a
./configure --target=m68k-rtems; make; make install, and did not apply any
rtems patches to the binutils-2.13 I downloaded from gnu site.
My object files seem to come out in elf format. Did not selected elf, seems
to default to it.
Remote chance it could be the -mri vs. --mri, but I would think gas would
kick it out as a bad option so probably a typo.
