grep-2.5 - 1 failure in make check

From: Dannis 't Hart
Subject: grep-2.5 - 1 failure in make check

I built grep-2.5 on my RS/6000 (7025-F40), AIX 4.3.3 ML10.

I used ./configure --prefix=/usr/local --disable-nls
--build=powerpc-ibm-aix4.3.3.0
and gcc-3.2 as compiler.

One of the tests in 'make check' failed:

PASS: warning.sh
PASS: khadafy.sh
PASS: spencer1.sh
Spencer bre test #16 failed
FAIL: bre.sh
PASS: ere.sh
PASS: status.sh
PASS: empty.sh
PASS: options.sh
PASS: backref.sh
PASS: file.sh
====================
1 of 10 tests failed
====================
make[2]: *** [check-TESTS] Error 1
make[2]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/grep-2.5/tests'
make[1]: *** [check-am] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/grep-2.5/tests'
make: *** [check-recursive] Error 1

BTW, I had to 'chmod +x ./tests/*.sh' because 8 out of 10 scripts didn't
have execute permission, on which 8 tests failed at first. But, that
might be just me...

Regards,

Dannis.
