I did posted some message on some unix related sites concerning a major
TAR`s leak and no solution has been found yet about this concern.  is there
somebody out there aware of the situation who will finally fix the problem
in the next version of TAR?

Tar since it begining dumbly tar stuff ignoring the fs limits, rendering tar
balls over 2GB useless. Could you please acknowledge this message and reply
later with serious solutions about it.  If a fix is or is about to be
available, please let me know and i will publish the precious information.

It is now extremly urgent to add a --size-limit option to force tar continue
on a next file i.e:
 file.tar.1, file.tar.2, ...
